Low-Maintenance Composite Decks Built for Metro Vancouver Weather
VS Deck & Rail is a certified TimberTech installer in Langley, BC, building composite decks across Willowbrook, Walnut Grove, Murrayville, Brookswood, Fort Langley and Aldergrove. TimberTech’s composite collections carry 25 to 30 year limited warranties and the Advanced PVC lines carry a limited lifetime product warranty — but only when the boards are supplied and installed through a certified installer. No staining, no sealing, and a surface that holds its colour through coastal winters. We bring samples to your house so you are choosing a colour in your own light rather than under showroom lighting.

What Our Customers Are Saying
Building decks in Langley
The first thing worth knowing about building in Langley is that there are two Langleys. The City of Langley and the Township of Langley are separate municipalities with separate building departments, and a Willowbrook address and a Fort Langley address are not governed by the same office. We confirm which one you are in before anything else, because it changes who the application goes to.
Ground conditions here are kinder than most of the region. Langley sits well back from the water on generally flat, well-drained land, so footings are usually more straightforward than on the North Shore slopes and the standing-water problems common in low-lying Delta are less of a factor. What Langley has instead is space. Lots in Walnut Grove, Murrayville, Brookswood and out toward Aldergrove are frequently large enough for a deck that would not fit on a Vancouver lot, which pushes projects toward multi-level layouts, wider stairs and outdoor kitchens.
Being inland matters for material choice. Langley runs warmer and sunnier in summer than the coastal parts of Metro Vancouver, and a dark composite board on a south-facing deck gets noticeably hotter underfoot here than the same board would in Ambleside. On open acreage lots toward Aldergrove, wind exposure is also worth designing around.
We work throughout Willowbrook, Walnut Grove, Willoughby, Murrayville, Brookswood, Fort Langley, Milner and Aldergrove.
The question we are asked most in Langley is whether a big deck needs to be one level. It rarely does, and on a large lot with any fall to it, stepping the deck usually produces better usable space than a single platform on tall posts.
Permits in Langley. Most deck projects in Langley require a building permit. Which rules apply depends on how high the deck sits above grade, whether it is attached to the house, and the setbacks that apply in your zone. Requirements and processing times are set by the municipality and do change, so we confirm the current position directly with the correct municipality on every project rather than working from memory. We prepare and submit the application as part of the build.
